Dear friends, at the start of this year, my heart overflows with gratitude. God watches over the Ark and Faith and Light with kindness and care. The older I grow, the more I cherish being with the most vulnerable in our communities—who are often the simplest, most open, most capable of love, because they welcome their reality with serenity. Perhaps it is because I too feel more fragile now. Living heart to heart with them gives me peace. (...) It is also true that the two families [the Ark and Faith and Light] are fragile in many ways. They depend greatly on God's Providence. But because they are founded on people who are weak and vulnerable, who urgently ask for presence and community, they are also deeply rooted.
