The book opens up the dimensions through which the concept of mission unfolds — dimensions that do not offer us the comfort of a clear conscience when we send or support a chosen few to distant lands. Instead, they point to something far more demanding: the need for each of us to "see through the eyes of the poor" and look at the world around us, beginning with those nearest to us — our families, our parishes — searching for the face of Jesus in the faces of our brothers and sisters.
