Five years ago, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I earned my doctorate. As I walked down the steps of the Faculty of Letters at Sapienza for the last time, it hit me.

I wish every young person with a disability could climb fewer stairs—literal and figurate. But I hope they never stop dreaming, never stop fighting for what they want to become.
