In case you haven't heard, a new law on the companion allowance for the totally disabled went into effect last February.

Published in the Official Gazette no. 44 of February 14, 1980, Law no. 18 of February 18, 1980 provides for a companion allowance to be granted to amputees and civilly disabled persons who are totally incapacitated due to physical or mental conditions as defined in articles 2–12 of Law no. 118 of March 30, 1971.
The minimum monthly allowance is 120,000 lire for 1980; 182,000 lire for 1981; and 232,000 lire for 1982.
