There is nothing truer

There are strange days when, for no reason I can name, there is only silence and darkness inside me.
I no longer know how to pray. I listen to music and hear nothing. I am restless, impatient with myself.
But then, suddenly, a desperate mother calls to share her anguish with me, or a young person needs help, and I find myself again. I answer the call with warmth.

Three years ago, when we first gathered to start a Faith and Light group in Milan, we didn't know each other yet. The strangest thing I heard that day was that "you receive more than you give."
Now I know there is nothing truer. We live it almost every day and talk about it often among ourselves.
What reason tells us should deepen our pain actually strengthens our spirit. Why?

The Celebration

We gathered again this year.
We sang, made jokes, danced the quadrille, and more.
We were all happy together, and I—a mother with an aching heart—found myself in the midst of this beautiful celebration, surrounded by such affection and people I love. I forgot my pain.

Thank you, Faith and Light.

Giovanna Raffaghello

When we gather in Faith and Light for these great celebrations, my heart wants to carry so much joy and love to everyone.
