About ten years ago, Don Claudio Campa was struck by a disabling illness. Yet he has continued in his role as parish priest and has pursued his work on behalf of disabled people with unwavering commitment.
From the bitterness and despair of confronting his own weakness firsthand, he draws a vital insight: when we are wounded, we need the presence of another person—someone who knows and shares our fragility. He speaks of "shared weakness," fragility as a place of encounter, communion, and dialogue.
Written together with Silvia Lova, this book gathers reflections, lived experiences, and testimonies that explain and justify a title so seemingly contradictory: that "limitation does not limit." Our fragility becomes a resource, a space in which to welcome God—and there "the cross becomes resurrection."
The stories shared in these pages can inspire deeper reflection and offer encouragement to those who doubt or despair. There is one word that sets the tone: "still." Monsignor Giancarlo Brigantini writes it at the opening of the first section as a counterweight to the discouraging "by now." "Still" speaks of change, of hope, of determination. It whispers that life is still possible.
