From the neighbors who hosted the editorial office all these years

A quarter century sounds like something out of a history book, yet it feels like yesterday when we first saw that inaugural issue of the Fede e Luce magazine. What made the moment special was that the editorial office was housed right here in our building.

Now issue 100 of Ombre e Luci has just come to light.

I'd say it's a genuine source of pride for everyone—including those of us neighbors who have always welcomed the steady stream of volunteers passing through that small basement office over the years. You have been ideal guests in every way: thoughtful, discreet, joyful, and always bringers of peace. I want to thank you for your dedication and your witness, and I'm certain that the hospitality we've offered should be entered firmly on the ledger of "building assets." The personal friendships that deepened over this long span, along with following the life of your Association through the magazine itself, have been a real gift to us. The publication has become a companion to our household—one that addresses delicate subjects with both simplicity and genuine expertise. It reviews books, presents updated therapies, introduces new family homes and rehabilitation centers. But beyond all that, it is a Christian presence in the lives of so many families who have come to know God's love through countless acts of charity and friendship offered freely by your many members and supporters. A magazine that presents the life of a Catholic Association is a true blessing for families living through the heavy struggles of disability, and for all who wish to understand the little-known world of people with disabilities. We are convinced that the greatest good you can do for anyone is to help them encounter the Person of Jesus Christ the Savior, who has many ways of making himself known—even through the generosity of those who do good while remaining unseen.
