Forbidden Not to Browse is a traveling exhibition of children's books designed to be accessible to those with special educational needs. Created with children in mind, it showcases concrete tools for inclusion and invites visitors to experience them firsthand. The exhibition features tactile books with Braille translations, books in Italian Sign Language with visual markers, high-readability books, audiobooks, symbol-based books, wordless books, illustrated albums, and novels about disability. Through accessible books, the exhibition creates opportunities for genuine encounter and learning—experiences of true inclusion for all readers, regardless of ability or age.
The exhibition runs from Monday, May 7 through Friday, May 11 at Area onlus (Corso Regina Margherita 55, Turin) and is free to visit:
- Kindergarten, elementary, and select middle school classes may attend by appointment only. To book, call 3338793259. Tours run at three times: 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2 p.m.
- Individual visitors may drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. without advance notice.
