…We all often turn our gaze to the sky on clear nights and dazzled by such greatness, we fix our gaze preferably on a star brighter than the others; we do not count them but, at a certain point, we notice that something has changed in the sky: the brightest star has set and is no longer there… It is the same among men.

…During the Midnight Mass, I left my family to go near Madame H. and her daughter M.J. who are from my Faith and Light community. They were both in the back and very alone. M.J. speaks loudly, prefers to speak of what should not be said and when it should not be said. While there is silence she recounts what she ate at noon… then laughs loudly… I felt repeatedly the weight of glances upon us and the solitude of her mother… Faith and Light is not yet ready to die! Integration is not yet a fact for everyone… I felt a strange sensation: of cold and of loneliness, on Christmas Day which is meant to be a day of celebration.. But I am even more invited by Faith and Light.

We are a bit behind with our registration bulletins for the pilgrimage, but we are moving forward: we will come to Lourdes. For us it is a great joy.
I hope to see you again at Lourdes and… in Rome. The group from Brazil will come for 2 days to Rome before Lourdes. The trip Rio-Rome-Paris and Rio-Paris-Rio costs the same.
We have a great desire to see Pope John Paul II who is greatly esteemed by all of us.
So… in Rome, we hope, and then at the feet of Mary, at the grotto.

We have followed the catastrophe in Italy closely. It is truly poverty and misery. One feels so helpless… money is not the most important thing after all. One would like to take people by the hand and instead one is reduced to being a spectator. We have prayed for everyone: men, women, children…..
