"I'm drawn to cinema that can hold the gaze of difference—disability in all its complexity," says Andrea Romeo, founder and artistic director of the Biografilm Festival, in conversation with Alessandro De Simone. Now in its 15th year, the festival brings biographical cinema to Bologna each year. Claudio Cinus covered the festival, focusing especially on stories rooted in fragility—like Sqizo, though others are coming soon. The festival aims to celebrate lives through cinema's power to reach broad audiences. With its immediate visual language, it tells more than stories of romance and heroes. It uncovers the invisible paths—hidden lives, those pushed to the margins. Film and television can restore authentic stories to the public and honor lives that have no other way to be heard.
Then and now – While browsing the Ombre e Luci archives, we found an article from 2000 in which Vito Giannulo summarized the problems exposed by "Nessuna pietà," a study that examined how Italian mass media portrayed disability. Twenty years later, we asked Vito to return to the subject and assess the progress made since then. Has the landscape really shifted so far from that polarized image—the "sick patient" versus the "superhero"? Find out.

Faith and Light Life
Virtual gatherings – Inspired by don Marco's Easter video message, on May 10th the San Giuseppe della Pace community in Milan held its first virtual gathering. It was an unprecedented and beautiful moment of sharing and listening, as the community tells it.
Birthday celebrations from afar – Just days ago, the Messaggeri di Gioia community in Cesano Boscone marked its third year. There was no way not to celebrate! Flora organized a series of video calls to bring together coordinators, members, families, and friends—filling everyone with joy and festivity.
