Sunday, October 26, 1975—Gathering at St. Peter's

4:00 p.m.—Cardinal Poletti and Jean Vanier welcome pilgrims in the square.

5:00 p.m.—Mass with the Pope

Monday, October 27, 1975

Lunch—A picnic in a Rome garden and a great celebration. Each group will perform songs, dances, and games.

Evening—Meetings for parents, organized by language.

Tuesday, October 28

Day:Sightseeing tour of Rome

Evening:Vigil of Light at St. Peter's Square

Wednesday, October 29

9:00 a.m.—Mass at St. Paul Outside the Walls

Followed by—The "Sending Forth"

Cost of the Rome Pilgrimage

October 26 morning through October 29 afternoon: 43,500 lire (travel not included)

  • Lodging in religious houses, with rooms for one, two, three, or four people.
  • Bus service from the station to lodging and back, plus transportation to all pilgrimage sites. Includes guided sightseeing tour.
  • Pilgrimage badge and handbook
  • Insurance, administrative, and organizational costs.

N.B. Groups traveling by their own organized bus who do not use the shared bus service, guides, or administrative support may pay the reduced rate of 35,000 lire.

Those arriving on the afternoon of October 26 or departing on the morning of October 29 before lunch receive a reduction of 1,500 lire per meal.

For residents of Rome, the cost is 10,000 lire

This includes:

  • Pilgrimage badge and handbook.
  • Administrative, organizational, and insurance costs (including coverage for private vehicles)
  • Bus service from the gathering points—S. Gioacchino, S. Silvia, Villa Patrizi—to all pilgrimage meetings.

We encourage each group to create fundraising initiatives so that no one is excluded for financial reasons.
