«These pages look a little different this time, dear readers. In the summer of 2022—a season that feels like recovery, though troubling events keep it from being as peaceful as we'd wish—we've accepted and embraced a challenge from a longtime collaborator of our magazine. She has years of experience running workshops with people who have intellectual and physical disabilities at a parish laboratory in Rome's Portuense neighborhood, Santa Silvia, which has been operating since the 1980s. Her challenge: offer games and activities that aren't overly complicated, something other than the usual fare. Games meant especially for groups—perhaps at summer camp, or at a gathering.
We don't pretend to have created witty diversions suited to every ability, but we know that with a little teamwork, almost anything is possible. And challenges can always be compelling! Each page in this feature opens with a question—a way to start a light conversation that helps us know each other better. You're welcome to share your drawings of the cover image; you're completely, entirely free to interpret it however you like. The cover is yours! We'll be thrilled to share all the submissions we receive on our social media. We'd also love to hear whether you enjoyed the games, if they were too easy or too hard, and whether you'd like to find more in our pages—or if you'd like to suggest some of your own. Have a great summer and enjoy!
Below you'll find a selection of games from our print edition. For the complete version, just support us and we'll send it straight to your home!

Riddles
Each image goes with a riddle. Can you guess the mystery word? (Answers are at the bottom of the page)
I am "sacred"
yet I don't belong in a church
I'm hidden away
and I never see the sky:
but if you strike me without mercy
all the stars I'll make you see
Because I am thick and dark,
Thumbling lost his way
but I sheltered Snow White.
You too have walked through me
And found strawberries there
When you look at him he looks back,
he smiles when you're happy,
he cries when you cry.
If you step a little to the side
He vanishes and goes away
