From the vibrant imagination of Rachele Giacalone's characters comes Sara and Emily's Little Sparks, a book endorsed by LICE (Italian League Against Epilepsy) and graced with the tender illustrations of Norina Wendy Di Blasio. Free to download and available for iPad, it aims to help children understand, in simple terms, a disease that affects 500,000 people in Italy, with 30,000 new cases each year.

When I first read the book, I didn't really understand what those lightning bolts were that Sara suffered from. I asked my mom, and she explained that Sara had epileptic seizures. After reading it again, I got it. This book taught me that friends stay friends even when you're going through something hard.
