People with Intellectual Disabilities at the Ballot: A TV Discussion

Carlotta Leonori, representing AIPD (Italian Association for People with Down Syndrome), will appear on the February 25 broadcast of "Attraverso lo specchio," Gold TV's well-known social variety program, to discuss the guide Your Vote Counts!!! March 4, 2018 Elections. The guide was created by AIPD for voters with intellectual disabilities, highlighting their role as active citizens and their broader participation in political and social life.

The Broadcast:

Attraverso lo specchio
"Your Vote Counts!!! March 4, 2018 Elections"

February 25, 2018, 9:30 p.m.
Gold TV
Channel 17, Digital Terrestrial, Lazio

«Many people with intellectual disabilities in our country still do not vote, either because they lack information about their rights or struggle to access clearly written materials. Our guide, written in simple language, explains how to exercise the right to vote in the March 4 elections»: so AIPD introduced the Your Vote Counts!!! March 4, 2018 Elections guide weeks earlier, created for voters with intellectual disabilities—though useful to everyone—who deserve recognition as active citizens.

Carlotta Leonori of AIPD will discuss the guide and, more broadly, the active participation of people with intellectual disabilities Sunday, February 25 on Gold TV (Channel 17, Digital Terrestrial, Lazio, 9:30 p.m.; also rebroadcast February 26 at 10:20 a.m. and March 3 at 6 p.m. on Roma Ch 71, Channels 71 and 194, Digital Terrestrial, Lazio), during the latest episode of Attraverso lo specchio. Now in its fifth season, the program—which our magazine has covered before—is known as Italy's first social variety show, produced by the Integrated Social Cooperative Matrioska in partnership with the volunteer association Il Cavallo Bianco and the Integrated Social Cooperative Tandem.
