Raising awareness in our community
I have been reading your magazine for a long time. My family includes a girl with Down syndrome, and I can say with certainty that your magazine has helped me—and continues to help me—navigate many difficulties and understand other disabilities as well. I have no criticisms; for us, it is already perfect.
There are four of us in my family. My Enrica is now fifteen. I can say she is doing well, but only recently—she had heart surgery and was hospitalized many times, including once in a coma from heart failure. For our family, Enrica is a lesson in self-acceptance and a will to live. She has become the purpose of our lives.
I would like to ask your advice: I am part of a group of parents who want to raise awareness in our community about disability. We have already met with the social services administrator and the social worker, who told us they did not know this need existed—that families were struggling alone with such serious problems. If you or any of your collaborators could advise us, we would be deeply grateful.

Ombre e Luci discovered at ANFFAS
I am the mother of Massimo, who is eleven years old and has autism.
I appreciate "Ombre e Luci" very much. I found it at the ANFFAS office in Melegnano. Thank you for all the good you do for all of us.
