I'm Happy!
The more I read the stories shared in Shadows and Lights, the happier I am to be part of Faith and Light. It carries me into a world full of friends, and I feel woven into each story. Before I joined Faith and Light, I lived inside a glass bubble, wrapped in my parents' protection. I wouldn't go anywhere without my mother—she was my shield. Then a friend introduced me to Faith and Light at Gratosoglio. Thirty-eight years have passed. I've served two terms as a coordinator; I've grown in every way, taken a giant leap forward. This September there's Pompei, and I'll absolutely be there. My mandate ends then, alongside Luisa Ferrini. For now I'll keep doing what I always do—helping, accomplishing great things. Come September, we'll see what's next. I'm thinking of passing the responsibility on to someone else.

Home Everywhere
I spent some time in Argentina for work and joined a Faith and Light gathering in the Buenos Aires community thanks to Father Alberto Bochatey and the remarkable Maria Agnese Boitani, who connected us from Rome. It was a beautiful experience. For them it was the first Faith and Light meeting of the new year—January and February are their summer months, like July and August for us. A few days later I received messages from Maria Del Carmen, the community's mother and coordinator: "Thank you so much for sharing this time with us! It brought us great joy and renewed us. It was a pleasure to learn your story and Faith and Light's story. Blessings on your journey home!" Faith and Light has the gift of making you feel at home everywhere.

In Memory
Like truly precious people, Monica Stirpe (who died on June 26th, just days after turning 52) leaves an enormous void. So like me, yet so different, Monica stood beside me and—walking with patience, never letting go of my hand—invited me to see the world through her eyes.

The Barrel
by Claudio Moriggia
If the barrel was full,
I'd walk with a will
From the barrel the knight
he drank his wine right…
