Back to Work at Last
Dear editors, here I am in my work uniform! Two weeks ago my boss texted to say the Assago cafeteria where I worked before lockdown was reopening. It's only two hours, from 1 to 3 p.m. on alternating weeks, but it's a good start. I went back yesterday morning (November 8th, ed.) and it went beautifully. I'd stopped hoping for this. Kisses!

I Rose to the Challenge
This past summer I was able to help run a day camp organized by my parish, Ss. Cirillo and Metodio, in Dragoncello on Rome's outskirts. After the long closure from the pandemic and finally with the bishop's approval, we launched activities on June 14, 2021. For three months and a week, the Artistic Summer Camp… Much More Than Day Care brought together young people from my parish united in helping families in the neighborhood and beyond—facing all kinds of challenges, including disability. I was afraid I wouldn't be equal to the task of working with children. But it was the children themselves who taught me, through this experience, to always move beyond my own disability. It is to them and their families that I say heartfelt thanks for walking with me through these three months of growth. And I owe deep gratitude to everyone who shared this journey with me and gave me the chance to be part of it.
