Un program of impressive scope, spanning employment and education, prevention and rehabilitation, new IT certification and accessible online services—these are just some of the highlights awaiting visitors at HANDimatica, a specialized conference and exhibition on new technologies for integrating people with disabilities. The event takes place in Bologna from November 28 to 30 at the Palazzo dei Congressi. Held every two years and open free to all, HANDimatica is organized by ASPHI Onlus, an association devoted to developing technology-based projects that reduce disability barriers, in partnership with the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government and the University of Bologna's Department of Educational Sciences. Here are some of the topics on the agenda:
Thursday, November 28
Computer tools and their use in learning difficulties. Technological aids for multiple and acquired disabilities.
Friday, November 29
Regional experiences: the current state and future of services for people with disabilities. Employment integration: people with disabilities as a resource to be valued.
Saturday, November 30
Vocational training and employment integration: lessons from practice. Additional sessions include:
- seminars on topics such as "Autism and Technology" and "Adult Mental Disability and Technology";
- workshops on "Home Automation" and "Augmentative and Alternative Communication";
- presentations of experiences, initiatives, projects, and prototypes from schools, institutions, and non-profit organizations in a dedicated exhibition area.
