The villa in question is "Villa Respiro" in Pordenone, where autistic teenagers spend weekends with trained staff and volunteers.
"Villa Respiro" is part of the network of services established by the Fondazione Bambini e Autismo Onlus (see Ombre e Luci no. 3 - 2003). Across 200 pages, the book explains why and how the villa came into being, how it was designed down to every detail, what the weekend days are like, and which activities engage the young guests—and sometimes their siblings. The authors include testimonies from staff and parents. Early on, there is a clear and useful description of autism that deserves mention.
