Dear friends, these past weeks I've felt so many new sensations. Years ago, I might have said "there's no way I'll ever ride a bike." Today I can tell you: anything is possible.
You're wondering why? On May 25th, I finally got to take my first bike ride—well, actually it was a tandem. I owe this to the Arca association and Fede e Luce, working together. It was wonderful cycling through Parco della Caffarella with all the Notre Dame students, who joined us on the route.
It would be wonderful if people with disabilities were included in eco-friendly bike days like this. If we were allowed to pedal along too. That's how we truly become part of society. Because right now, when I look around, it still feels like we live in two separate worlds.
But I'd rather remember this beautiful day on the bike by letting the photos and videos speak for themselves.
