I now work at a café called Mere' as well. I also work the front desk at Hotel American Palace Eur on Via Laurentina, where the metro stops. Once a week I go to a vocational center—it's almost like a school—on Via Boccea. I have so much to do every day. The café is on Via Nomentana. To get to all these places I travel all over Rome. The closest one to my house is the hotel at Eur.
The café is new for me and I love it. I feel so good there. I like working a lot and I'm happy. I'm learning so many things and I'm always around lots of people, even ones I don't know. At the café I do everything that needs to be done. And I like that too—it's so much fun. The owner is named Carla and she's wonderful and really kind to me and to everyone. She always speaks to me in such a nice voice and shows me how things should be done.
Working at the café is basically like being at a party all the time—it's fun because you take orders, set the tables, bring food and drinks, and then clean up. It feels like being at home.
At the hotel everything is really nice too, but it's not like a party and I always behave well and I'm careful about details. My friend Joelle works with me there. I'm so happy she's there. Mostly I have to prepare the key cards with the magnetic strips for all the rooms. I have to write the room number on them. But I can do other things too. I like it at the hotel because there are always so many kind people. I talk with lots of guests. I always wear my uniform just right—black jacket, black pants, black shoes, white shirt, and a red scarf.
I try not to be home before 8 p.m. because that's wasted time. I do lots of things with Athletica Vaticana and I think Cardinal Tolentino is such a wonderful person. I tell him that all the time and he says "you break my heart" and we hug. In the afternoons I do a lot of sports—soccer with Roma and gymnastics on Via Dandolo in Monteverde. I take dance classes in Portuense. Then I go do music, which I love so much, and I also go to the Club run by the Down Association near Piazza Mazzini. I have a subscription to the Brancaccio Theater and I go on Saturday or Sunday. But I go to other theaters too.
