Veronica, thirty, and Alessandro, thirty-five, celebrated their wedding surrounded by family and friends. They made it happen.
They met at vocational school, chose each other, spent time together, and were supported by their families and by several married couples from Fede e Luce.

"There are always fears and worries," says Alessandro's mother. "For them, there are a few more. They have some challenges; their personalities are what they are. They have their two paychecks. They'll need to learn to trust us parents for advice, for help with difficult things."

Fra' Carlo, who prepared them and blessed their marriage, said in his homily: "People say that whoever finds a friend finds a treasure; you have an entire community as your friends, and we will never leave you alone. Whatever you need, we will be there for you."

The ceremony was beautiful, the songs and prayers from their friends at Fede e Luce were beautiful, and the bride and groom were moved to tears.

We are certain that under the care of their mothers and with their daily commitment, the Lord will help them grow, mature, become more independent, love each other deeply, protect each other, and bear the inevitable shortcomings of one another—as happens in every couple.
