June 10: Small Audience for Theatrical Production of "The Man Born Blind"

On Sunday, June 10, 1979, the Faith and Light group in São Paulo staged "The Man Born Blind"—a collage of passages from the Gospel of John. Through these scenes, the group sought to illuminate the journey that the Apostles and all who believed in Jesus undertook under His guidance, passing from the darkness of ignorance and sin into the light of knowledge and redemption.
The actors were extraordinary: perfectly coordinated in ensemble scenes, clear and precise in their delivery, graceful and fluid in their movement.

We will not mention names, because every performer deserves recognition, but we must call attention to Maria's dignified grace, the sincere energy of certain apostles, the simplicity and power of Jesus, Judas's torment, the pilgrim's fervor.
The sung and mimed scenes drew thunderous applause, made all the more powerful by the costumes, lighting design, and evocative music.
In short, it was a beautiful production—we applauded until our hands hurt—but we wish it could have been performed for a much larger audience.

Dear Friends

Dear friends, the father of our Rosy has suddenly passed away. Some of you knew him personally; others came to know him through his writings. Now more than ever, we hold Rosy and her mother dear to our hearts.
Let us pray together that this great sorrow will deepen the love that binds them.

News from Cuneo

What was the national gathering in Cuneo for me?
Embraces,
greetings,
children's voices,
smiles,
songs,
games,
experiences,
advice,
new friends,
prayer,
stillness,
love,
so much love,
from the older toward the younger,
from the younger toward the older,
and you feel God among us,
and you feel Christ alive before you
smiling.

And every hour,
every passing minute,
you learn,
you understand,
you love,
and you receive, receive, receive
always
from everyone
but especially from the smallest
and then you give thanks,
thanks to all,
thanks to God,
and you pray
that this fire not fade like straw pray
that those smiles remain always before you
and you pray
to dismantle the selfishness that separates you from them
you pray
to learn to love
as they love you.
