This year I went to camp at La Bicoca late in the season—I used to go in August. I love camp because I get to be around other people. I can't remember much about the ones this year, but I got along well with some of them. The place felt welcoming, the hosts were kind, and I felt at home with everyone there.
The camp theme was I'll Give You Disney, which meant giving fairy tales a different ending. During our circle, we read what everyone had written. I chose Stitch as my character, and I'd spend the evenings waiting until it was time to sleep.
Someone else wrote about Robin Hood, who steals from the rich to give to the poor. I can't remember the ending they made up. And there was one about The Lion King, when a baby lion is born.
Another day we went to the thermal springs. I swam in the sulfurous water, took a shower, and got dressed while still wet. And one day we went to see horses—I can ride and walk with someone leading me, or on my own.
I'll come back to this place, with its beautiful view and fields full of vegetables, and then we eat pizza. I liked it and the food was good. I didn't talk much, but if people make me feel welcome, I'll speak up and say what I know, no problem.
