I had to go back to Rome one day in August to get fitted for the reception uniform for school starting in September. But I'm still annoyed because they closed early this year. In September I'm changing schools. My hospitality institute is in Trastevere and has two locations. For the first two years I went to the one on Via dei Genovesi. Now I have to go to the one on Via della Paglia because they do the three-year reception program there. I already know Via della Paglia. It's smaller. But I've already seen that there are bars nearby where you can get breakfast before class, just like I did at Via dei Genovesi. I had fun getting fitted for the uniform. It didn't take long. Good thing, because it was incredibly hot. Then I left right away and went back to the sea.
But at the sea I keep studying. With Giorgia, who's my teaching assistant at school, I do video lessons twice a week. And they're long too. They asked if I wanted to do them at the sea and I said yes right away. I really like doing video lessons with Giorgia. We do math, Italian, English, French. We do everything. But I have to say something. Something really important. I like doing the video lessons very much, but only sometimes. In September I want to go to class with my classmates and my teachers. Sometimes video lessons are fine. But only sometimes. When I'm at the sea it's okay. But when I'm in Rome it's not okay.
To do a video lesson with Giorgia I set an appointment for 9:30 sharp. I take my computer to the beach and put it on a table at the bar. I plug it into an outlet. Then I connect to the internet. I can do it all by myself. Sometimes I can't hear Giorgia's voice well because it's noisy at the bar. So I yell at everyone: "Be quiet!" And they do. But to get everyone at the bar to be quiet I have to get mad and raise my voice.
At the sea I also do a lot of exercises in my notebooks so I remember how to do things. I do them almost every day. Not always but almost. I do them early in the morning or after lunch, before I go back to the beach. Not in the evening—I don't like doing homework at night.
I'm happy that in September I'll have so many reception lessons. I really like doing reception work and I want to get very good at it. I always pay attention so I do everything right and well. And I learn everything. But I learn if I'm with my teachers and classmates. That way I see in person how to do things. With the computer I learn much less. And besides, I don't get to laugh and have fun with everyone else.
