On the cover: Benedetta with Duccio Degl'Innocenti, captain of Empoli and the Italian U19 national team
I went to watch the Roma Primavera versus Empoli Primavera football match because my friend Duccio Degl'Innocenti plays for Empoli Primavera. He's the son of Luciano Degl'Innocenti and Catiuscia Ortichi, Daniele's brother, and Loretta's nephew. At the beach in Castiglion della Pescaia, at the Bagno Sirena, he sets up next to my umbrella in the front row on the right. Duccio is really nice and kind. He's friends with Elia and Olmo. He's very good at playing football even on the beach. The match at Tre Fontane ended 2-2. Duccio scored both goals, and then he ran over to where we were standing and waved to me with his hand to dedicate the goals to me. I was so happy. I shouted "Goal, Duccio, Empoli Primavera!" Some people standing nearby got angry because Duccio had scored two goals. They swore and said things like "you came from Empoli to steal the match." But I'd come from Viale Marconi, actually from Ostiense station, because I'd gone to pick up Catiuscia, who came on purpose to watch her son Duccio play in Rome with me. At the beach I always swim with Catiuscia. After the match Duccio came over to say hello. I hugged him and we took photos together. There was also a very tall Roma player there who's a friend of Duccio's. Then I went to lunch at a restaurant.
At training with my AS Roma team, I told the coaches that I'd cheered for Empoli Primavera and for Duccio, who'd scored two goals. And they told me I did the right thing. Tardelli and Chierico came to training too. I love playing football, but in our team I'm the only girl. School is going well. I'm having a lot of fun. One morning I wanted to go on strike because I didn't feel like going in. A teacher friend told me I was right, and we started singing "strike, union meeting!" Everyone was laughing. I like school because it's fun being in class with my classmates, and the teachers are nice to me and they're good at what they do. In the afternoons I almost always go bowling, and I've gotten really good. Yesterday I bowled three strikes.
