Director Pupi Avati will serve as honorary jury president for the "Festival del Cinema Nuovo," an international festival in Milan that recognizes the world's finest short films featuring exclusively disabled actors.
Screenings of the competition entries will take place October 3–6 at Cinema Arcadia in Melzo and Cinema Argentina in Gorgonzola, with the awards ceremony held on Saturday evening, October 6.
From submissions across Europe and beyond, 29 films have been selected to compete for prizes across three categories: Shorts (up to 15 minutes), Very Shorts (up to 5 minutes), and Animation.
Additional awards will be given for best actor/actress, directing, screenplay, editing, and original score.
Alongside Avati, the jury includes Giampaolo Letta (CEO of Medusa Film), actor Paolo Ruffini, television personality Matteo Viviani, host Gianluca Nicoletti, and numerous cinema and television professionals and critics.
Actors Ale and Franz serve as testimonial ambassadors for the "Festival del Cinema Nuovo" and created the festival's promotional video.
The "Festival del Cinema Nuovo" is promoted and organized by the Romeo Della Bella Association in partnership with Mediafriends.
