Channel 31 (DTT)

Each episode traces the remarkable journey of two couples—from the adversity that brought them together to the day they marry. In the premiere, we meet two young couples whose lives changed suddenly while they were still students.

Nick and Sophie, from Cambridgeshire, were house-hunting together when Nick was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Though Nick survived, he lost his sight. Sophie stood by him throughout, and accepted his proposal of marriage.

Carly and Nelly, from Newquay, were also searching for their first home when Carly fell backward off a wall in a freak accident and was left paralyzed from the neck down. Rugby player Nelly never wavered. He proposed, and together the couple has worked to make their wedding day everything they had dreamed it would be.

Tune in to Extraordinary Weddings every Tuesday at 9:15 PM on Real Time. Episodes are also available on Dplay after broadcast.
