A day in the life of Auggie's closest friend—the boy with a syndrome involving severe facial and cranial malformations—now living far away after moving to another city. Distance, though, cannot erase the impact of friendship with someone whose face is so "phenomenal." Certain experiences and certain friendships mark us forever, especially when they ask something extra of us.
