1. Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Therapist
The physiotherapist is the technician who works in the field of motor rehabilitation.
The course lasts 3 months and requires a high school diploma or professional nursing certificate for enrollment.
Admission depends on an exam that assesses cultural, physical, and psychological fitness for the profession.

2. School for Neuromotor and Psychomotor Rehabilitation Technicians
The school is located at the Institute of Child Neuropsychiatry, Università di Roma, Via dei Sabelli 108.
Duration: 3 years. A high school diploma is required for enrollment, though applicants with only a middle school diploma may be admitted after a written exam and aptitude interview.
Full-time attendance.
3. Speech and Language Pathologist
The speech pathologist treats disorders of language, speech, and hearing, and is trained in the reeducation of voice, speech, and auditory function.
The course lasts 3 years and requires the diploma necessary for university admission.
The curriculum combines theory and practice, including clinical work with people who have voice, speech, and hearing impairments.
In Rome, programs are offered at the Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology of the Università degli Studi and at the Institute of Otophonology: Centro Studi per la Terapia del linguaggio, Via Salaria 30.
4. Language Disorder Programs
One-year courses at the "Tommaso Silvestri" method school, Via Nomentana, Rome.
4a. Short Specialized Courses in Psychophony
Offered at the International Institute for the Reeducation of Language Disorders, "Villa Benia - S. Maria del Campo" (Rapallo).
5. Community Educators
This school trains specialists in the education of young people with adaptation difficulties and social animators for educational and social services organizations.
The course lasts 2 years and requires a high school diploma, with admission by written and practical exam.
Teaching is both theoretical and practical.
In Rome: the "Scuola di Ricerca e di Applicazione per la Formazione di Educatori di Comunità" is based at Università degli Studi.
6. Montesano Orthofrenic Teachers' School
Trains teachers for special schools, rotation classes, and special sections of kindergarten.
The course lasts 2 years (soon to be extended to 3). Admission requires an art school diploma or a degree in secondary teaching, following a practical interview in special schools. Attendance of 70-100% is required. Includes practical training in special schools.
In Rome: the Giuseppe Montesano school is located at Piazza Lovatelli 36;
In Milan: at the Università Cattolica.
7. School for Social Workers and Social Services
Prepares graduates for the profession of social worker in medical-pedagogical centers:
- in neighborhood community centers
- in hospitals
- in schools
The course lasts 3 years and requires a four-year or five-year secondary diploma.
In Rome: schools are located at Università degli Studi or at F.S.R.A.S., Via Zanardelli 32.
8. Psychiatric Assistant
This role combines nursing and therapeutic functions.
The course lasts 2 years and requires a professional nursing diploma or health care assistant certificate.
Job opportunities are available in psychiatric hospitals and clinics, mental health centers, school health services, and new outpatient and home-care programs.
