A collection of poems brimming with enthusiasm and vitality. The courageous testimony of a young man whose keen poetic sensibility is matched only by his relentless drive to reach ever higher.
Daniele La Barbera was born in Florence in 1971 and now lives in Quarrata, near Pistoia. He earned his diploma as an industrial technician in 1989. In 1992, following an accident, he lost the use of his lower limbs. What followed was a flight into literature—this book a symbol of his moral and physical recovery.
Here is one of his poems.
Tell me how you want me to be
and I will be it
tell me what you want
and I will give it to you
don't tell me anything
just accept me for who I am
and what I give
and I will be more than what you want.
