Sergio Sciascia

Sergio Sciascia was born in Turin in 1937 but moved to Rome with his family a few years later. From childhood, he showed a marked passion for writing and for understanding the things around him, and these two aspects would become his life's work. A colleague, a friend of the earliest Roman Faith and Light community, put Sergio in contact with Mariangela Bertolini and with the idea of transforming the mimeographed newsletter "Insieme" that connected the few Italian Faith and Light communities into something more. It was autumn 1981. Ombre e Luci was born and Sergio accepted to be its managing editor.
