In December 2021, a slim and practical handbook appeared, designed to introduce readers to the archaeological remains scattered across Rome's eastern suburbs — a historical heritage often overlooked or unknown even to local residents. The guide was created by young people from the Day Center "La Fabbrica dei Sogni" (Torre Maura area), with support from instructors leading workshops in archaeology, photography, and IT. The choice to organize the guide around Metro Line C stops was inspired. Each station gets a chapter with artifact descriptions and maps showing how to reach the sites. Beyond the practical historical information, what stands out is the authors' commentary — frank and disarming, offering an original perspective on these fragments of history. It's a small guide, then, but also an invitation to discover this unknown Rome, a journey that began over two thousand years ago and continues into the postwar period, passing through tombs, bridges, towers, cisterns, and catacombs.
