We have learned with deep sorrow of the death of our dear friend Angelo and his mother Rosa in truly tragic circumstances. I ask all of you to join us in prayer, to share the grief of those who, above all, have had the grace of a fellow traveler like Angelo throughout these years.
To share is a sign of profound communion: "if one member suffers, all the members suffer with him." This communion is nourished by faith, which calls us to lift our gaze toward a destination that is not a place but an embrace—the Father's embrace, like Angelo's embrace of his mother. Perhaps heaven is something like this: an embrace in which we feel welcomed, protected, loved, held, never abandoned.
As always, young people teach us so much about what matters most.
Let us not stop embracing one another. And let us pray that Angelo and his mother now enjoy the eternal embrace of God the Father.

Following Don Mauro's counsel, and knowing the power of shared memory in our personal and communal lives, we gather the recollections of friends of Angelo Volpi. Their stories help us honor his memory and discover the mark he left on so many hearts.
