Amen

Every year, I go to Pope Francis's birthday party
Amen
Benedetta Mattei and Pope Francis

I like to do lots of things, and I do them. Otherwise I get bored. Now I'm going to tell you about something I did that I really enjoy. First: I'm so happy working as a server at Merè restaurant on Via Nomentana, which is far from my house. The best part is when we all eat together with the cooks who make delicious food. One of them is named Chiara. Carla takes the orders at the tables. I'm a server with another Chiara and Loretta. I jump into action when customers come in. I greet them and set the tables. Then I bring the food and don't drop anything. I have so much fun, and I love knowing what people order. Carla is amazing and so kind. I love being a server. I also keep working at the American Palace Hotel at the Eur. They have me do a lot of work with the magnetic key cards. My friend and coworker Joelle is there too.

Sunday morning I went to Pope Francis's birthday party, like I do every year. I was invited. The moment he walked in, I ran over to hug him and give him a kiss for his birthday wishes. Then during the party I hugged him again and gave him a pat for his birthday. He blew out a candle and turned 87. It was a beautiful party. I had fun. But as soon as it ended, I had to leave early because I had to sing in the choir at Mass at my parish, and then there was a concert in Monteverde with my White Hands Choir from the Testaccio folk music school. I started playing violin, and I love it.

That's why I want to do lots of things all the time—staying home just wastes my time. I only want to be there in the evening for dinner, then watch videos on my phone and call people before bed. Now I really love going to dance class because every week after we all go get pizza together. And we dance at the pizzeria too. I started playing basketball with Virtus Roma, and I go there after I play soccer with AS Roma. Then I got a subscription to Brancaccio Theater, and I'm already telling you that in February I'm going to Palauer for a concert by my friend Claudio Baglioni. Amen.
