A Faith and Light group is forming around the children who attend "Stella Mattutina."
Mimmo, Elisabetta, and others who have been friends to these children for years are now reaching out to their parents. Together with Father Luciano, the educators are organizing gatherings filled with joy and faith.
In Milan
A first meeting with parents and friends took place on January 9 at the "S. Vincenzo" house.
We watched the Faith and Light film and discussed the possibility of organizing a festive afternoon.
In Legnano and Cesano Boscone, groups of friends are already living in the spirit of Faith and Light.
In Parma
During a visit from Father Roberti, who came from Belgium with two disabled young people, Hélène and Patrick, about fifty people interested in the movement gathered together.
The Eucharistic liturgy brought everyone into an intense moment of prayer. Then we sang, talked, and made plans for the future.
In Vercelli
Sister Maria and Sister Donata are eager to become part of Faith and Light with the friends of the children at their institute and their parents. The friends have long been committed to knowing and discovering all that these children have to offer.
Next to the institute stands a family home called "the house of friends." There, a priest, working with the help of two or three laypeople, started a small community two years ago. It now includes four young women and two young men they met in psychiatric hospitals or in institutions that were not suited to their human development.
Over two years, overcoming difficulties that arose "as in a large family," these young people have found an atmosphere of peace that supports their human and spiritual recovery.
Their experience is an inspiration and an example for us.
