Our hearts still sing with the memory of those days in Assisi. The images of the celebrations are vivid before us: the colored scarves waving in celebration, the smiling faces of those who were with us—parents a bit weary but at peace; young people radiant, friends tired yet joyful still; children bouncing and bewildered; priests calm and welcoming.
It was a remarkable gathering. The preparation was hard. Against the odds, it succeeded. Lived in fullness, despite the rain. Animated by so many people who gave their gifts. Nourished by the warm and encouraging words of Jean Vanier and Cardinal Martini. Blessed, finally, by the Lord, who surely worked in the hearts of all.

Those who could not come to Assisi will find many pages in this issue devoted to our thanksgiving pilgrimage marking twenty years of Fede e Luce in Italy. You can join the twelve hundred pilgrims and relive those significant moments with them—but more importantly, meditate on the Cardinal's words. Words that call us to a renewed task: our pastor asks us to spread around us the joy that is Fede e Luce, born from the courage and fidelity our communities bear witness to.
If we can continue our journey with new trust and hope, we can show society and the Church the way to true peace.

This issue also brings two new things. The first comes from a film, "David's Mother," which opened another way for us to reflect on the lives of parents. The second is a group home that opens its doors not only to young adults with disabilities, but to their parents as well.
An issue richer than usual—in pages and in content—to keep us company through the summer holidays.
