This is a school that works—and more than that, it translates what students need into concrete action. In the days before Christmas, the Cangemi school in Boscoreale installed wooden cottages that helped teachers and students accomplish what had become their mission: raise funds for disabled students in the school and improve equipment in the institute's movement therapy classroom. The initiative, titled "My Abilities Are Stronger Than My Disability," won immediate support from principal Carmen Guarracino. In just three days, the school collected enough to purchase new equipment. It was a genuine outpouring of solidarity. Parents, students, and teachers bought handmade crafts and artisanal biscuits, which they donated as Christmas gifts.
Despite difficult weather, everyone threw themselves into the effort with enthusiasm. The fundraiser succeeded thanks to the work of special education coordinators Livia Sarto and Maria Carlino, alongside school board member Luigia Mase, who developed the project with all the teachers in the special education group. The goal was to develop students' creative abilities through hands-on work with different materials—to help them develop a real connection to what they made. In this way, the school wove together teaching and service, one more example of how the Cangemi Institute keeps pushing forward despite structural constraints. It remains among the best-equipped schools in the region.
