A Letter to You

A Letter to You
Archival content: this article was published more than 30 years ago. The language and content reflect the sensitivities of the time.

To you—mother, father, brother, sister, friend, priest, nun, doctor, therapist—who read Ombre e Luci faithfully, who sustain it through your subscription and your commitment to people with disabilities, who keep it alive through your articles, letters, and photographs, who help spread it by sharing names and addresses—I write to ask you for one more gift.

In this issue you'll find a page to tear out, fill in, and mail back to us. Your response will help us continue the journey we've begun together, and we depend on all of you to walk it with us.

Are we answering your real needs and hopes?

Ombre e Luci is more than a magazine to pass the time. You've surely noticed that our aim is to help parents of a child with a disability believe that people around them want to help—so they don't feel alone, so they can find useful advice and information, so they feel supported and held up on a path that is sometimes so hard.

Ombre e Luci also exists to help young people and children in difficulty find friends who want to learn how to be with them, to stand by them, so they feel valued and loved exactly as they are.

Now, after four years, we need to know whether you are more than an occasional reader—whether you're ready to pick up a pen, find an envelope and a stamp, and tell us how to move forward. Share your thoughts with us. Tell us how we might improve or change. Help us understand, in short, whether we are truly answering the needs and hopes of our readers.

We're counting on you, and we thank you in advance.
